| where specifically would it be ? is it under the car ? fender well ? inside the trunk ? what would be common places to look because I don't know if one has been installed there ? |

If your talking about the aftermarket filter, it can be installed in three different locations
1) Under the front of the car, bellow the gas tank, next to the fire wall
2) Look under the driver side rear tire. Between Transaxle and back firewall.
3) In the engine compartment
Beetles also came with a in-tank screen, that's the only factory filter that came with the car to my knowledge. |

if you find it in the engine compartment re-locate it!!!!! i have one between the tank and tube, and in the rear between the tube and line that runs to the fuel pump. right above the driver rear axle. |
