Hey gang, i need the infinite resources of the samba.
Im trying to assemble a 40 horse, and am in desperate need of barrel shims. Ive looked everywhere, searched samba high and low. no answers.
I ordered them online, then the company calls me and says, no longer available.
:cry:

So if anyone knows where to get them, or has some, let me know. ill buy them all. i love 40's and have never had this issue before.

Do you have negative or positive deck?
For negative deck, trim the bottom of the jugs on a brake lathe.
Positive, and you'll need the shims. You can also remove small amounts of aluminum from the top of the pistons...
Rimco will make you custom shims if you call them, that's what I'd do.

Thanks for the replies i did get. Didnt know rimco would make custom ones.
As it turns out, found out that a personal friend/machinist is going to make me as many as i need, in whatever sizes i need. :D
I posted this, then he stopped by, and i mentioned it. he said thats easy. so dope!
