| Does anybody know about the quality of the CB performance "super race crank and rods"? |

Haven't used that crank before, but CB's quality is often praised.
How much power are you looking to make? You may want to go with a Flanged or Wedgemated Crank/Flywheel |

The cranks are excellent, at least the ones I have used in the last few years,
the finish is quality too.
The only comment I have on the rods is that they come with 5/16" bolts, if your building a drag motor or super high rpm engine I would take a look at Scat H-beam rods with 3/8" bolts. Otherwise the CB rods will cover 90% of what is out there for HP and performance, finish work on the rods is very nice too. |

I had a 78.4 CB crank in my street/strip Beetle for several years and then sold it...the second owner now has it in his street/strip Beetle :)
I have a CB 84 mm crank in my current 2332 cc. I have 169 HP at the wheels and rev to 7,000 rpm with DOT slicks  |

| Love 'em, can't bust 'em. Got the parts to build a 2275 with a CB 82, but haven't found the time just yet. My 1915 turbo has a nitrided 69 stroke from AJ, but I'm sure they all come from the same place.... |

I have an 82 mm crank and H beams.... the rods fit loose. about .020-.021 sideplay. I called them about it. they did not seem to think much of it. Make sure you have a good oil pump..i was expecting .008-.010 new.
The crank and CB Chro mo flywheel were real close for balance so my shop said. that was with a stage one PP and BMD pully. They only charged me $80 instead of the $120 quoted. polished my journals for free. |
