| Before "the search police" attack, I want everyone to know that I've exhausted all search options before asking my question. Now, with that out of the way, I would like to know what was the first model year that the VW stamped 10 slat wood rack became available? |

Not 100% certain, but I believe it was first available with the 58 model year beetle.
Prior to that VW offered the 11 slat rack. |

Hmmmm...... :-k :-k :-k :-k IMO it would be OK. It is on the borderlline of being period correct. If it was going on an earlier oval with click clack doors, I would say it is not period correct.
