| What would be some things to look for when buying a used ball joint front end. I have a 74 standard, made in May (if that makes a diff.) and I'm about to go pick up a used complete beam ,any thoughts would help |

So you don't know what year this used beam is? Keep in mind that 1966 through late 68 had smaller tie rod fittings and smaller inner wheel bearings. About the only other difference after that point was the addition to the towing eye, like your 74 would have had. That's an unimportant difference though.
I'd check to see if it's unbent (straight), and for rust, and the condition of the ball joint boots. It's pretty hard to lever on things out of the car (or even in the car) to see ball joint play.

| so if there is any kind of bend in the beam watch out. All I'm getting this beam for is to rebuild it and still have a car. |
