Long time, no post. Updated pics with the front and rear done...some other things along the way.
If all goes according to plan, this will probably be my last post containing updates for this baja. As a long time racer (well I'm 20 so I guess it can't be THAT long), I purchased this as my first personal off-road project a couple years ago. Through our (relatively) short relationship together I've gone through many rough obstacles with it (both metaphorically and not). It's going to be tough to give it up, but as of this coming weekend it's slated to change hands and move to Oregon.
I'll be trading for something of similar value but of fairly different form. After the trade is complete I'll post pictures of the new project.
For anyone curious, the wheelbase ended up at 114" with 6x6s.
All of the following pics were of work I've done to it in the last few weeks in preparation for the trade specifically...The seats will be put back in to keep it as a 4 seater...I was doing some work back there.
For additional (better IMO) pictures, go to:

Here is an incar of the baja:

And here is a video of a fairly recent MORE race for anyone who is into that type of thing. Not the baja...

It's been an educating, frustrating and expensive ride, despite all of which, I wish it wasn't coming to an end. There are however reasons that this other buggy makes more sense for me.
Hope you guys enjoyed the build. I know this baja better than anyone else, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. |

one thing i noticed on your pictures at picasa web was your wire connectors for your tail lights and how you have a whole bunch of different connectors. Maybe your wires are color cordnated, but what i did to make it a simple dis connect/reconnect was use a trailer wire connection. Just a small suggestion.
By the way the a arms look....my bug feels small now. |

Yeah. It was manageable when I first got it. Then I added another light...and another one. Soon I had that big jungle of connections. I was hoping I'd have enough time before the trade to change it to a single connection, but I won't. I'm sure the new owner will do something like that though.
But if it makes you feel any better they're coordinated in a way to make wrong connections virtually impossible. Thanks for the tip :) |
