| What would have made my clutch cable too short? Stock 69 Beetle , newly installed cross shaft and TO bearing new cable .New pressure plate etc, installed a few months ago. Cable guide tube is attached, bowden tube is adjusted, but when I attach the clutch cable to operating lever on the trans, I end up with virtually no freeplay and the wingnut holding on by a couple of threads. Also, it,s very hard to depress the clutch pedal. Read a thread about aftermarket clutch plates that are too thick and I'm thinking this is the problem.Help |

| Make sure you got the correct cable, there are different lengths. |
