Hello. Heres what I am trying to do. Right now I have 4.37 ring and pinion with 1.26 reduction boxes on a 64 bus in ohio. We have hills here. I swapped out the 34 pict 3 for the 30 pict 1 and that helped me get up hills better. Well I want more..if thats possable. So Im considering dual carbs. The 30 pict 1 just might be all the performance I will get but dont know.
I have 2 dual port type 3 manifolds coming. Thought of putting on the 30 pict 1 carb on there but someone already said been there done that with poor results. Will the 32 pdsit carbs get the bus up the hill better in 4th gear than the 30 will? Not sure if I will loose torque if I go to these carbs. Thats why I was considering using the 30 pict 1 carbs. I didnt want anything tooooo big.

The carbs will hit a stock fresh air fanshroud with T3 manifolds. You may clear a 36hp shroud. I can't recall if the linkage clears the shroud or not, but you do have to relocate the cable tube (lower) in the shroud itself. You have to work out your own air filters. I had the same parts you have coming 15 years ago and I mocked it up but never pursued it.

Judging from the 66 Squareback I had, it will make more power, enough so's you'd notice. Quick car.

Your location says Ohio. You've got hills?

Anything's better than a centermount, so just having duals on there is going to help you out more than anything. Not sure if those T3 manifolds are going to work with upright cooling (you didn't say, so I'm assuming), they place the carbs quite low so linkage may be a major issue. For the carb choice, I'd have to go with the PDSIT's. I like them more than a PICT-anything.

Can you put that buss on a diet?

Try taking out as much weight as you can and see how it does on those hills, the more room I have the more stuff I carry and it all adds up.

Performance is mostly about HP to wt ratio........
