| hello all i am new to the beetle craze.i just bought a 1973 and it is slammed to the point it is almost undrivable i know how to raise the front but not sure on the rear any help would be great |

You need to re-index the torsion bars. No special tools required.
You need to remove the spring plate from the torsion bar and either rotate the spring plate, or pull the torsion bar and rotate it on the inner end. Both ends are splined. One end has finer splines then the other, so you can fine tune the amount of lift or drop you are looking for. |
