i have stock 1600CC Dual port engine, 009 with compufire, header and single pack
i wanna upgrade to duals
i am thinking of 2 choices
1-dual solex 35 PDSIT from aircooled.net, i knew that these guys are good
2-Dual Solex 40mm from lowbugget.com
so which is better in terms of performance and installation and jetting

I have used both, from the same vendors, on my 1776. Both worked well, but I prefer the 35PDSITs. Their smaller size makes them easier to work with and they just seemed smoother, with a better midrange. If you do buy from John, have him jet them for you. They come very rich otherwise. He also does some clearancing. Though there is some difference of opinion about this, I would run a balance line with either of them. It will make for a smoother idle, especially with a more agressive cam. BTW, I now have Dellortos, which I find superior to either of the other carbs.

I'd take a set of Kads over PDSTs anyday, if they were in the same condition. Make sure everything is clean and take the time to set up the jetting.

I've had the 34 Solex kit from CB on my car for 6 months
and they work great. Floats and jetting had to be tweaked.
Not bad carbs for the money. |

please guys, i am so confused either to order the Dual Solex 34 or Dual Solex 35 PDSIT, note that there is 200$ difference between both, does the money difference worth the performance difference?

they are probably 34s that they machined an extra 1mm for the butterflys. THey probably have a little larger venturis too. THe combination of the two would have a slight better "feel" at higher RPMS. These came stock as 32/34s on on a 67 type III with dual port. I've had multiple sets of both and I still prefer Kadrons running HD valve springs.

sorry, not both the 34 pdst and 35 pdst. You probably wouldn't feel much difference if they had the same venturis. $200 is a bit much but I suspect that the 35s are from Scat and have better linkage.
