I have a 1641 engine with a engle w120 cam in it. The engine has stock dual port heads on it. The case is a dual relief case. The engine has a new 009 mechanical distributor on it. The engine has stock rocker arms and crankshaft. I was wanting to know what would be the best carb or carbs for this setup? I have dual weber ict 34 pic. carbs. I also have a couple stock solex 34pic3 carbs. Would either of these work? I was also wanting to know what would be a good exhaust to run with this setup?

W120 is a big cam for a 1641 :shock:
On the carbs....Weber 34 ICT's would work well.

With that much cam, I would go with 40 IDF's, and a 1 3/8 merged header. CB has the header, I believe. You're killing yourself with stock heads though, so I'd get them ported to make the most of this.

i have a 1641 with a 120 engle cam 1.25 rockers,drd heads(go3-unported)dual 36 dells and a header with a flowmaster muffler.its not a burnout special by no means but on the highway it shows its arse.mash the gas from around 70 and it'll put you back in the seat.even on long hills it'll maintain speed and/or accelerate without downshifting.the real powerband starts around 23-2500 rpms which is the only downside unless you think in terms of drivabilty for the openroad

I'm with Dwayne.....

My 1641 runs 40 Dells, and an 1-3/8" header even w/ a stocker cam. It's no power house, but still runs well. It sings on the freeway. 8) I still got a best of 34mpg, and am making about 60hp at the wheels. It's no racin' motor, but it's also a far cry from a stocker w/ a single carb too. I had a 30% power increase just by adding carbs and exhaust alone. 30%!! :wink:

Sorry, I just didn't realize 60 was a number to brag about. I suppose it is an improvement though, considering the engine by itself only ever made about 60 at the flywheel....
