perrib, what's with the clutch cable?

perrib Thu Nov 19, 2009 10:53 pm

I know it looks hokey but I'm not a fan of the aftermarket end that uses Allen screws and to lazy to make a nice looking end on a lathe and silver solder it to a shorter cable. I just loop it over and use cable clamps no loose cable wire to poke my hands if I have to change it. It is also easy to change if it gives up while off roading. Thre is a method to my madness. :)

I'm assuming a winch fits in there nicely. Does it hold up fine having the bumper attached simply by the 2 bolts on each side?

no winch yet but HF has their 3000 lb camo one for half price for the thanksgiving sale. $50.00. i am flipping a coin, brakes vs. winch. the bumper has held up to small trees and brush but i smack a pine tree and the hood and fenders did a little twist-a-flex. i plan on adding supports and skidplate from the beam up to the bumper.

finished welding together my body lift. started wirebrushing my pan so i can fill holes and paint it. i wish i had the money to get new replacements. the pan is in ok shape, but could be better, gonna have to replace battery tray though.

Go with the winch! That way when you run off the road from no brakes you can use it to get out... 8)

Here's what I did today...

Installed a bracket to hold me extra steering link and control arm tool out of the way.

I fabbed a bracket to hold my license plate since I cut the rear skirt off last weekend. And put a new air cleaner on.

And I stalled a CB.

Nicksan Thu Nov 26, 2009 6:11 pm

I reassembled my intake with new boots, Partially disassembled an extra carb I have.

Partially disassembled and cleaned out the carb that I am using on the car.

Made sure the carb spacer I bought will work and everything will line up.

Plan on starting the Carb rebuild tomorrow or the weekend.

Here's a dumb question. It looks like a home made tool, so... What does the control arm tool do? Thanks (I'm a little slow)
