I have a 1641 engine with a engle w120 cam in it. The engine has stock dual port heads on it. The case is a dual relief case. The engine has a new 009 mechanical distributor on it. The engine has stock rocker arms and crankshaft. I was wanting to know what would be the best center-mounted carb for added performance for this setup? Also what would be the best perfomance exhaust system for this setup? This engine is going in a 1968 bug.
Thanks Adam |

| W120 cam needs dual carbs. You will have a very hard time tuning any single carb on a 1641 with a W120 cam and stock heads. |

Stock heads are also a problem.
Sounds like a real mismatch.
You can't just toss a bunch of parts in a box and expect a smooth running engine to come out.
Sorry, but its the truth. |

120 on a 1641????? talk about an oxymoron, I only used a 110 for my 1776 for my fastback, and run dual 32 PDSIT's ( I don't plan on hot rodding around in this) a 120 would be to much cam for this motor, and a 110 is borderline with stock un-ported heads, but I needed some low end grunt, along with some good top end, and this has always been my happy medium cam.I would only run a 120 on a stroker motor, 1955cc and bigger.
As for best centermount, that is like saying EMPI is the best, Dual Webers or nothing at all. |
