I have parts for a 1776 engine and an opportunity to switch to a 78 stroker crank (even swap for a 69 cw crank).
Will the "A" Pistons I have work or do I need to get "B" (stroker) pistons
041 heads
Engle 110 cam
Dual Kadrons (for now)
Thanks for any suggestions |

Would be easier with "B" pistons. You woundn't need any shims.
NOTE: OK I must have gotten lucky on the one I recently did. I didn't have to use any shims. I had a deck height of .048 so I was good to go. |

| Definitly "B" P/C. 40 x 35.5mm valves, 1 1/2" exhaust. Dual 40mm Dellortos would be nice but Kads will work fine with that cam. 8 - 8.5:1 CR. Should be a nice motor. |

Yes you will need some shims w/ stock rods and stroker pistons on a 78mm crank. |

| I've got the same combo. 90.5x78.4 with A pistons. I had Rimco make me some customs shims the right thickness to dial in my compression. With CB's unitech rods there are no clearance issues. |

I am building a 90.5 X 78.4 for my Oval I used "B" pistons and Cut the barrels down to get 8.5:1 compression, it is now shorter than a 1600 so it will fit better into the oval.
I used Scat stock length rods
I asm using AJ sims 46mm Kadrons

ulimate 2007:
B pistons
5.5 h-beams
engle fk-7 with 1.4 rockers
steve tims 40x35
weber 44idf's
will haul ass!
110 is a good cam for using 1.1 rockers
get idf's or dells to make it more fun! |

Ya think Nick?
I'm thinking he will have a LOT of deck going that way with no shims. |

Yes but the extra cost would be wasted with a W110 and Kads. If you do get 42 X 37 valve heads you can go bigger cam and bigger carbs and bigger header, and more money, more money, more money. |
