Hi,

I am using my '71 411LE as a daily driver for a couple of weeks now, but seems i have a problem..

Am afraid that one of the CV joints on my right hand driveshaft is on its way out. I have come across some new ones on Ebay (quite pricy!!) but i was wondering if any other complete driveshaft from another aircooled or non aircoold VW would fit?

The Type 4's share CV joints with Things. IIRC, the automatics use two different length drive shafts, but on the manual both sides are the same. I don't know if any of them interchange with any thing else.

I would think T2 CV's are the same as the outer diameter is the same. They are more abundant

T2 CV joints are not as deep in cross section as T4 ones. T4's CV's can handle a greater operating angle.
