I've got a coworker that said when he was in Germany in the early 70's he had a '59 Beetle with factory front disc brakes.
I called bullshit, but want to ask around to see if there was a "special" German model that may have had disc?

Nope, Beetles were not available with disc brakes until '67.

What model Beetle came with disc brakes in '67? I don't know of any that were imported into the US that had disc. Just curious.

Euro 1500 models had them, and those you see here in the US were either grey-market cars or those someone bought under tourist delivery.

He's full of sh!t. Very few cars in the 50s had disc brakes. Even PORSCHES didn't have them until the early 60s.

Alot of folks who "had a VW" have no idea what year it was. You friend probably had a "69."
