You all know how we feel about political threads around here, but we felt it would be a good idea to have ONE place where people can talk about the elections.

- Keep it clean

- Keep it respectful

I am not going to spend all of my time pruning this thread. If you can't handle it, it's gone.

Enjoy your discussions and again, please keep it from getting out of control.

THIS THREAD WILL BE OPENED AT 7:06AM EST ON TUESDAY

Glenn Tue Nov 04, 2008 5:06 am

May the "discussion" begin...

blankmange Tue Nov 04, 2008 5:10 am

bah... I was here at the 'opening bell' and it was still locked....

btw... this thread is gonna suck....

Been voting for almost 20 years and this is the most excitment I can remember surrounding an election in that time. May the best candidate win!

EZ Gruv Tue Nov 04, 2008 5:57 am

The thing that kills me about voting is those people who complain about the results, but never actually voted themselves.

No complaining allowed unless you actually voted.

Glenn Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:07 am

I just voted... it took 10 minutes total.

No lines, so don't let the pictures of lines on TV scare you off.

EZ Gruv Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:09 am

Early voting is where its at! Over half of the registered voters in my state have voted already.

mpribanic Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:29 am

Just voted at my home precinct in Neptune Beach, Florida. It took me all of 7 minutes to cast my vote. I arrived at 7:30am. No lines, no problems.

Life is good!

There was a sizable line where I voted, but that was around 7AM and most people are trying to vote before work. I was pissed that Connecticut didn't include Bob Barr on the ballot. I had to write him in.

Yep. 20 minutes here.

Too late to argue over it, just let your vote do the talking and that's that.

My only hope is that we have as clean an election as possible and that there is a clear winner. I don't want this to go on for days and weeks.

If your guy doesn't make it just remember the 2012 campaign starts tomorrow!!!

DeathBus Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:34 am

Bob Barr.

You mean girl.... and she started last week.

hazetguy Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:36 am

i voted two weeks ago. from what i heard on the local NC radio last night (take that with a grain of salt and a margin of error) it was reported to be InSane with 49% and Obama with 48%.

just wanted to get that in before this thread gets deleted.

LMAO no that was BOB BARKER!

Bob Barr is the Libertarian candidate. When Obama is to Marxist and McCain panders to the right, its nice to vote for someone else.

"VOTE EARLY AND OFTEN"

-- variously attributed to three different Chicagoans: Al Capone, the famous gangster; Richard J. Daley, mayor from 1955 to 1976; and William Hale Thompson, mayor from 1915-1923 and 1931-1935. All three were notorious for their corruption and their manipulation of the democratic process.

keifernet Tue Nov 04, 2008 6:51 am

Okay, Kids are off to school, now I can head out... I hope the lines at my voting location are as smooth as you early worms had this morning.

I am soooo sick of the MEDIA and all this BS... SHUT UP AND VOTE! :P

Let's get this shit over with! :D

I hope everyone feels this way.

No matter who wins, I am quite happy with the amount of people that are voting.
I always said that I'd be more happy with the winner if the majority of our country actually voted for them(not the majority of 10% of the country).
I know that alot of people still won't be voting, but what the hell it's a start.
Loose your brain vote MaCain!
Vote Obama sez yo moma!
