Okay, I have a brand new wolfsburgwest weatherstrip and moulding and i put silicone in the channels but the moulding seems to big. i know the moulding is installed 1st with the smaller lip on bottom. It's a pain in the ass. I think it has to be a bad moulding or weatherstrip. it was never this hard with a '61 vert i had.

Silicon in the channels? Dude what are you doing? You might have the glass in the wrong channel

I've done that before that's why I know this time I've got it in the correct channel. yeah what's wrong with silicone?

Eth, go here and on page 2, towards the bottom, there is some help on getting the weatherstripping in. I had a simular problem, but, it was that there was too much folded material ( linen, staples, top) between the wood and the weatherstrip.

Its not the top that is the problem. it's the aluminum moulding. it's too long. the item number is 52-57. maybe it was mislabled.

Eth, I reused my aluminum trim, but, if it's too long can't you just cut it them to fit? It's 2 separate pieces with the 2 trim spacers between them, right? I installed the glass 1st on the gasket with windex as a lubricant, then allowed the windex to dry thoroughly before installing the trim with more windex. It was a pain in the ass,but it worked.

yeah i trimmed the moulding with a dremel and took off about 1". It fits fine now.
