Just in case my Mom has a question about how many soccer balls the van can hold or where the cup holder is. Should she start posting her questions here?

Just like any "New Beetle" posts are moved to the " Other VW vehicles" forum, so will those. |

| this is the thing that bugs the hell out of me. isn't chryslers mini van what killed the vanagon? and the euro van didn't even have a chance. 20 some yrs later this is all they have to offer a rebadged chrysler, go figure  i think there is only one hope for this van. the weekender seat configuration with side table and pull out bed. maybe just maybe when porsche stakes claim to volkswagen, i bet in no time they have a rear powerd vw like bus in the works, but with the likes of the porsche cayenne i wonder if they to are out of touch also. |

| I had a quick question about my new VW mini-van... I can't seem to find the engine, there is a spare tire back there, I don't get it, any help would be appreciated. Also, does anyone know how to operate the rear cup holders? |

I thought that everyone was just joking and being snarky until I saw this photo. What a sellout! I used to have a Mazda pickup truck that the engine sticker started to peel off of and reveal the word FORD underneath. I had to get parts at the FORD dealership. That hurt.
So much for VW brand loyalty. I must say that I am truly disappointed. (Or perhaps I should be relieved that VW doesn't really actually MAKE such an ugly POS.) |

| Yup its true. However the contract is for 3 years and there is no camper version availabvle. So maybe VW will make the New Bus verion as a camper and loose the Craysler thing. I don't think to many people are happy to buy a Chrysler badged up as a VW. |

My girlfriend and I are having children just for this "German Engineered" piece of machinery with its' "German Sport-Tuned Suspension" and it's "German Engineered" engine and drivetrain. In fact, I am so intent on having children for this Badge-Engineered American POS... I German Engineered Minivan that I am currently conceiving children in multiple countries so I can buy a fleet of German Engineered Routans to cart them all too and from soccer practice. I will buy a stockpile so when the transmission blows on the first one after a year of suburban driving, I'll have another one ready to go.
Sure, this one won't have leaky heads, but it's a Chrysler so expect a service life of five years before the motor blows and you can buy another one for parts on Craigslist for $350. |

The vanagon was the last of the horizontally opposed, rear engined, rear-wheel drive Volkswagens. The last "real" VW, before VW started following the market instead of leading it! |

While this is of course true, we shouldn't get too uppedy because it could also be said that the Vanagon 2.1 was the start of the water cooled VWs. The beginning of the slippery slope. (please don't flame me :( ) |

| I was at the VW dealership and the salesman said he wished VW hadn't done that as well. Some leftovers from Daimler-Chrysler. He also said "Well they did spend a couple million re-engineering the suspension" and I said "Whats a couple million, they made some test software? Thats a drop in the bucket compared to the billions in profit they hope to make on selling this thing" Then I looked at the audi A3 - which I hear may have a TDI in the US by mid summer next year. |
