OK heres a few more details :shock: ..I have moved it 1 week later so we could add additional parking for the saturday Pier event!...trust me it'll be worth the 1 week wait!...Spa beach AKA Volksbeach 8) were parking the dunebuggies /things right up next to the sand!...roll out the blanket and fire up the grill! :)...heres more details:

Friday May 1st, Eurotreffen 3 ....DRAG racing/night event....Bradenton Motorsports Park drag strip...$15 entry gets you in the gate to enjoy the car show and watch the racing....$10 more and your on the 1/4 mile racing YOUR VW(or ANY Euro car) all nite long!...they have food vendors or bring yer own BBQ & cooler...oh yea track side camping is FREE as long as yer out by 8AM the next morning!....cool ugh?....

Saturday May 2nd "Buses on the Pier 11"...NEW this year its just BUSES! around the pier!...ANYTHING type 2! examples to include: Splitwindows,Singlecab,doublecab,westy,baywindow,vanagon Eurovan...anything else will park in SPA BAECHor day of show parkinglot!....NO Valley parking isnt an option this year!,Pier doesnt want people walking around the street looking @ the VWS...So its either you PRE register your bus for $15 each and recieve a "Golden Ticket" which will guarantee your spot!...until 9AM-11AM ONLY!...after that it becomes VOID and I fill your spot with a bus that was on time!...everyspot will be filled!! and any Open spots will be made avalible day of show AFTER 11 AM-noon...then we shut the pier gates and you'll have to park @ the beach which will cost only $7....Spa beach is a city park and DOGS YES(on a leash),BBQ grills YES....NO VENDING OF ANYKIND ALLOWED(maybe next year)...check out all the cars and take the FREE trolley up to the pier and experience the "Bus Show"!... 1 of the largest ALL bus events on the east coast! While on the pier checkout food court and way cool shops and resturants...feed the Pelicans or rent a bike and go downtown(can you say Dali museum!)...the whole pier experience is FREE to spectators and tourists...NO open fires on the Pier!(fire marshal rules)....RAIN OR SHINE!....come early stay late!...VW tatoo contest,VW toy raffle & VW die-cast racing for $ an VW parts vendors....to pre-register your bus email Sven @ VWcadets@yahoo.com or call for more info @ 727-548-1459

Sunday May 3rd VWs Over the Skyway 13!... :shock: WOW where has the time gone?.....This ALL VW convoy starts at a Publix parkinglot on SR64 about 1.5 miles east of I75(exit#220) and we will leave sharply @ noon!....NEW this year we will break the convoy into 3 smaller groups with the 1st group leaving out the BUSES!...then 15 minets or so out the gates will be the bugs(type 1)followed behind the type3s,things,trikes and anything else left....then last out will be the watercooled crowd...the sheer number of Volkswagens have grown to becoming a safety hazzard!...last years 250 or more VWs caused QUITE a scene!for 15 minutes or so we OWN that bridge!...VOLKSWAGENS as far as the eyes can see! NOW we will own it for 3xs as long right?....the convoy will end at the same place as last year BOYDHILL NATURE PRESERVE!...there you will be able to find TREES! & GRASS :P and several turn of the century local homes! busses ONLY on the pier this year?! no beetles, buggies, type 3's etc? that's a shame, we were really looking forward to this show as one of our favorites and enjoyed parking on the pier... i guess we will not be attending :(

why not, the show is still on, you can still show your car just not on the pier, give us the bus guys a chance to park there once, it will be my first time as in the years' past there was not enough space unless you got there quite early

let the whining begin.........

in refrence to your pre-edited post, it will survive no worries, it's a classics as is and will be as well next year, as far as convoy if it's too hat and slow for you then it's just not your thing, VWs are typically hot and slow

Well this past year was my first and I'm glad I got to park on the pier. I guess it's the first and last for that but I don't care. Sven was the coolest cat to deal with and I can guarantee I'll be heading that way next year. I guess I'll be trying to find that palm tree to chill out under. Besides I'd like to see that fuming mad angry State Trooper again. I get amused at seeing people get furious for no good reason at all.

i have a bus so this change won't affect me much but i still think it should be all air cooled vw's first come first serve. i don't like the idea of having to take the trolley to hang with my friends that have beetles.

Not attending because you have to park in a new area?

So what, you cant enjoy the show because you cant park your herbie on the pier? :cry: :cry: :cry:

Sven has been doing one helluva job putting on the Wild Weekend for
quite a few years now. He is one of a handful of promoters that does
these events with his heart & soul & gives the people a great time!

Not attending & supporting this event is like a slap in the face to all of his efforts! :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

imho, problem with first come first serve is that each year you see the same cars as some folks don't mind coming way early, anywho, it's mission impossible to make all happy

Same event, just different parking areas. I will be parking on the pier because I have a Bay, however, I wouldn't be surprized if the beach is where the "party" is! 8)
Remember all those local "boy scouts" patroling the Pier last year! :wink:

8) 1st off THANKS GUYS FOR THE SUPPORT!...it means ALOT! 8) ...today I was taking in the Bullie Bragade and saw alot of YOU! what a GREAT SHOW ugh? 8) ....LOVE seeing the buses and the bus PEOPLE all together in one place!...great VIBE 8) ....Ive begun signing up process for the Pier spots and Im proud to post them as the spots fill up!...I counted over 145 splits today @ the BB so you would think my 125 bus only show SIS possible!PROUD to say I signed up 13 spots today without walking around just word of mouth I guess....so if you want a" GOLDEN TICKET" ....Gina an I will be vending inside the big airconditioned building tomorrow, Sunday(same as years past!)@ the Bugjam...come and sign up!....125 spot will go!..."viva la Bullies"

i hadn't thought of it that way and can see where you are coming from .... i apologize for being selfish and wish you success this year. i will miss the old format but save me a gold ticket if bugs on the pier ever comes to fruition

i like the idea of one type of VW on the pier, it changes it up a bit. then you can have a bugs on the pier and type 3's on the pier, it could be lots of fun in years to come.
