I am putting a clear coat over my buggies gel coat body and wondered what the best brand to buy would be?

Also, I will be mixing a candy pearl pigment agent from www.paintwithpearl.com.

lastly, what size tip should I use on my gun?

Just a heads up, WEIGH YOUR BAGS when you order from paint with pearls. I ordered 10 bags from them, and every single one was way under weight..And they were all weighed on the Sikkens paint scale at work. I kept on emailing them and they would claim they were going to do something about it (gift certificate, store credit, free stuff, etc) but NOTHING ever happened, even after they took my replacement order.

And they claim their pearls are fine enough to spray out of a normal gun,(even an air brush) so a 1.3 should be sufficient. Possibly a 1.4..I would suggest doing a spare panel first to make sure everything working well.

Although I havent ever sprayed over gel coat, I have always liked spraying dupont clear.

Also, I know they dont suggest it, but you may want to spray your pearl as a midcoat. I know House Of colors has a good system for spraying pearls, and candy's. Then you could use their clear over top. I dont recall what their product is called.

I like HOUSE OF KOLOR UC-35,gas won't hurt it and it has a nice shine and pearls are fine to add to it.but it ain't cheap but in paint you get what you pay for.and a standard size tip works fine
