Howdy Volks:
Finally got up the courage to install the BN4 heater that came with my Thing in a box when I bought it 15 years ago.
Ian Epperson, of VeeWiki, came over today and helped me get my `73 Eberspaecher heater going but it needs a glow spark plug 411 963 319. I had to borrow his to get it working...
Surprise is it works great and it did not blow up and sing my jewels... Happy me... :D
Of all the parts not working, it's such a simple item, but does not spark at all. No clue why, it looks very clean and undamaged.
If any of you folks have a nice extra one laying around I would like to buy it.
Secondarily I am also looking for a warm air vent - footwell "181 819 189 B".
The one that shoots into the cabin area behind the ashtray.
Thanks:

Looks like German Motor Works has that one:
http://www.thingsforthething.com/catalog/index.php...qd5k1a04u5
only $18 new, and 6 in stock.
Oh, and looky what else they have:

EDIT: Oops, looks like they don't actually have it: "0 Units in Stock"
...no price listed for their one thermostat and timer switch... |

I have both of those Used, in good condition.
I'll send the part, then you send payment.
I also have gas heater manuals.

Mike: I will get back to you in a few days if I can't get OEM or NOS parts.
Ian: This one is for you... Should I ask when I call them?

Why are you using a 2 pole plug btw? |

Are you talking about the 2nd tab on the side of the plug? I'm not sure what it's for - I assume it's just the same as the tab on the other side.
Or are you asking why there's a center conductor along with a side tab? Well, it's a spark-glow plug. The side tab heats up a coil in the plug which (I think) vaporizes the fuel as it squirts into the chamber, then the center conductor fires a high-voltage charge a few times per second to spark the center of the plug and ignite the fuel. A bit after it lights, I believe that it stops sparking and just uses the heat side of the plug to keep vaporizing the fuel. |

| The BN4 in my thing has a single pole. The one you show has a second that is a ground. |

I think that the spark plug in your Thing is a BERU GZE 16 (one single pole)

The one in the picture maybe is a BERU GZE 13 (two poles).
You can use a BERU GZE 13 in a BN4 heater.

That plug is for the BA6 heater. The poles are:
lower one is a ground,
upper one is the power connection for the glow plug portion |

The plug for BA6 heater is sold here :
http://www.germansupply.com./home/customer/product.php?productid=16614&cat=376&page=3
It has 2 poles too, but it is not the same picture.
The BERU GZE 13 looks like this :
"GZE13" is engraved on one side.
I have one in my BN4 heater, and I have sold some of these with the pink insulator, others with the white insulator.
