Which would you try?
I want to try a cheaper alternative to por-15.
It will be tested on my 87 Suburban to make sure it works.
If it works out I will buy 4 quart specials so the price is very similar.

KBS RustSeal
$36 quart $118 for 4 quarts

OR

MasterSeries Silver Rust Sealer
1 Quart Silver $26.95 4 quarts for $96

$24 diffrence—4 quarts.

Por-15 $158 4 quarts

I don't think you could ever use 4 quarts on 1 VW!

Just used the master series this weekend, 2 coats of the silver and one

coat of the black gloss. That was what was recommended to get the full

protection. I think when I use this up I will go back to the more expensive

por-15 as I only have to put on two coats.

I had great results using RUST BULLET. I don't think I would go too cheap on rust prevention!

I used MS on my Ghia chassis. This stuff is very awesome for the price. It bonds well, and works well.

I live near Lousiana, in the swamplands of Texas (hot and humid), and I once painted some smaller parts with MS to test it out. I missed a spot, and it rusted out like crazy in that spot, but the coated parts are still doing fine. No rust creep or bubbling.

I recommend them for undercoating. I don't really like their chassis coat, but you could always POR15 on top of the MS...

I live in Louisiana . I used MS and have nothing bad to say.
It does go along way.
I did my pan as reccommended and had enough left to do in side my fenders and part of the body.
Make sure you wipe the rim completely clean as it will weld the top to the can!

Rust Bullet is awesome. It is everyway better than Por 15. Never used Masterseries CT, but 3 coats is more than what Rustbullet needs. 2 coats = full protection. And even with one sprayed coat, it is VERY very tough to scratch.

I've used MS and POR-15. I will NEVER use POR-15 again. MS adheres very well on smooth metal. I used MS on a recent QP replacement. The directions said plastic filler can be used on top of it. I dabbed the filler onto a standard prepped bare metal panel and compared it to the filler on the MS. The MS and filler had much better adhesion that just the filler on bare metal.

I haven't used any of these products but the masterseal is an aluminum filled moisture cured urethane. People who build boats test coatings for water resistance by painting a block of wood, letting the paint dry, then submerging the block of wood underwater. After a length of time underwater, say a year, they reweigh the wooden block to see how much weight it has gained (how much water has seeped through the coating).
Previously, two-part epoxies were the best coatings available to boat builders for sealing out moisture. But the new aluminum filled moisture cured urethanes out perform two part aluminum filled expoxies by a wide margin.

MasterSeries, for me. I painted some suspension parts ( trailing arms and spring plates), just to see how things hold up. I used 2 coats of Masterseries silver and a coat of chassis black.

It's been 2 yrs, since I painted these parts and they have been outdoors in the rain, snow and sun, the whole time.. The finish of the chassis black dulled, but, the silver held up beautifully. There is no rust anywhere.

Also, your buying this product from Chuck P. who is a great supporter of our VW community :D

Agreed. I'm using MS now and it's awesome. I picked mine up at his house, where he had a yard full of vw's and was using the primer/sealer when I arrived. Great guy and great product
