| every single unrestored oval bug 1956-1959 gas tank that i see has a mint condition spot of paint on the front of it on the "hump" where an approximately 5 inch piece of 1/2 tape used to be, anyone know what this was for (ie inspection tag, hold up wiring, etc???) |

Nothing to do with answering your question but a similar vein.
Every Mercedes Benz in America comes from the port with a white sticker in the lower rihgt hand corner of the the windshield. NOBODY takes them off! Rare is the MB without this sticker.
This has been going on for decades.
It will probably become a standard for a proper North America Restoration.
The question is Why are they not removed?
Go ahead, look at the next MB you see, the sticker is most likely there. |
