| I got up this morning and there must be a couple hundred ladybugs on my ceiling, where the heck did they come from, and how do you safely get rid of them? |

| Depends on the area of the country you're in. Chances are you had them all along nesting in the walls...they just moved inwards following the warm air. Like orangeeye said, pick 'em off with a vaccum cleaner. Change the bag so it's new, suck 'em up, them release them back outdoors. They'll find other nesting spots. |

I wonder if they're strong enought to survive the succion and bouncing around once they get sucked by the vacumm?
Can you please do it with the shop vac. and repost. |

Why would you want to get rid of so much good luck? |

Yes, they are harmless but DON'T PISS THEM OFF! They can let off the worst smells!
Vacuum them up if you can.
Often they are not true lady bugs but similar looking bugs the government imported to eat the gypsy moth larvae.
Lot of "lady bugs" not many gypsy moths, Lots of Gypsy moths, not a lot of lady bugs.

They are looking for a place to hibernate for the winter.
And if you piss them off, they will smell like Tram. |

I've been trying to catch and release them, just like I'm the man from ICE. If you do smash them they excrete a dark yellow oooze that smells kinda bad.
My little garden is done for this year so they will have to find food somewhere else,. Man I have thousands of them all over the outside of my house, its like a swarm. I'm so glad they aren't roaches  |

Boofuckinhoo! Just spray Raid on those bastards and be glad you did! They stink, get in everything, and will leave little black poop stains all over the ceiling which will leach through the paint you will try to cover it up with! Ask me how I know... |

They're Japanese Ladybird Beetles. They were brought in for pest control and of course they took over because the Gov't is clueless when it comes to managing the environment.
Kill them. |
