| I am looking into purchasing a new engine and was wondering what would be the best engine combination to get. I want my engine to be dependable and have enough power to cruise on the highway. Displacement? Type of Dual Carbs? Any info is greatly appreciated. |

I think you could find a lot of info about this doing a search because it has been discussed dozens of times, here or in the performance/engine forum. My dream engine would be a very well built 1776 with good selected parts, and dual kadron/empi single barrel solex 40, for low end torque, power, reliability, ease of maintenance, choice of easily available parts,... But for now my 1641cc with stock 34pict carb works great : offroad, on the road, highways (even though there's not a lot of them here...). Most important is to use good parts/reputable builder (if you don't build it yourself), and not a lot of bling-bling chrome chinese crap that will make your engine blow on the first highway...

| As Peirre said, there's lots of threads on this one. You've got to start with how much money you're willing to spend. You can get an awesome daily driver engine with LOTS of power and great longevity for $15k. You can also get a pretty good engine for a lot less. |
