View original topic: Window Winders/Door Handles - dowel pin

Bought inside door handles and window winders from wolfsburg west. Also bought the dowel pins to hold them on. Problem is the dowel pins don't fit in the holes for the handles or winders.

Should I drill the holes out a little bit?

Suggestions?

You could, but the pin needs to be tight in at least one side of the handle, and very snug in the bore in the shaft, otherwise it will wobble on the shaft and wear it out.

The pin should be splined. Are you sure they are the wrong size???

You should also contact WW if there is a product problem. They will always stand behind what they sell.....

I did notice the pins were splined. I'll try again tonight. Maybe I was just tired and impatient last night!

If you bought this pins:

you should put them from the splined point to the flat one. You can hammering slightly & carefully from the flat top. Be sure the pins are getting in the right part (cradle) of window lift mechanism/door remote.

Yep, that's the ones I bought. I will try again tonight.
