I bought a set last month from Gear Works MFG for $ 154 shipped to my house. Their number is 815-895-0244 and their email is sales@gearworksmfg.com.
Very good to deal with and quick shipping too. |

the trailing arm really does not limit you, its eveyrthing around it. typically with the stock torsion bars, the long ones you can run a 31" at the biggest. you can convert to the short bars and run bigger. |

| I run BFG traction tires, but the 700 15 Yokohamas are one heck of a tire, tough too. BFG allterrains have a weak sidewall, in my experience they tend to flex and rub tubes or pinch them.... |

Thanks for the help!
I know the long torsion can cause interference, I was hoping to run a 32 but a 31 would work good I hear with the 002 trans..
I decided to go with the radial TSL front and rear. 215/85/15 and I'm leaning toward the 31/9.5/15...I was looking at the 32/10.5/15.
Thanks

Okay so do we have clarification here?
I'm about to get some 31x10.5x15's and want to make sure they will fit on my 71 Super Baja...yeah I know it's a Super, but the question is will they fit? |

I was glad to see someone mention Interco (super swamper) for the rear's. The SSR's, TSL, SX, Thornbird and even the Swamper Bogger look bad ASS on a baja.
Don't forget about Dick Cepek (FC 2 and MC), Pro Comp (AT and MT) and Micky Thompson (ATZ and MTZ) as well. These tires may cost a little more, but most are comparable in price to BFG's and are available in 30 and/or 31" sizes.
Also, if you like the look and grip of BFG's, ask your tire shop about other brand's with the same tread design.
The BFG MT tread has been copied by several companies including Dunlop ("mud rover" I think) and can save you a few buck's per tire.
Just my .02 |

I've been running 30/10.50-15 TSL Radials on the rear of my Baja, love the way they work on the trails and rocks. I just put 235/75-15 Cooper Discoverer ST tires on the front, they work great for steering thru the mud and wet rock. |

The wheelmaster bit is what i meant, maybe a different preface line? Compare metric to inch. According to the wheelmaster chart my 225/75-15 tires on the rear are 28 inches tall. I already forgot how wide in inches. But just trying to grasp the differences between the two sets of numbers and what a 31x10x15 is compared to what i have. Now i'm a bit less confused.
thanks. |

the first number is width in millimeters. 225mm is about 8-7/8" |

Several mentioned Interco and several of their tires. They make a 29x10.50x15 in the TRXUS series that looks amazing. Perfect for a Baja. Look them up. At 29" you would have no problem with the long torsion tube.
