I am psyched, My 1974 Thing now has floors! Now I just have to install the BMW 325is Recaro seats, brake line, pedal assembly, and drive on down the road.

The Thing is not restored, it will be a driver for now. I lucked out in the spring, a friend of mine who owns a local towing company was called to have it junked, so I gave him a $300 digital camera (which he gave to his fiance'), and the Thing became mine. the body is in pretty good shape, no sign of any accidents, and it has just a few small rust spots.

That's quite a steal, and now you have fresh pans which are most owner's primary concerns. Definitely post some pictures...oh wait- you gave your camera away. :wink:

I have pics, but I dont know how to post them in this website. From what I see in the toolbar on this site, it looks like you have to have the pics on a website to post here.

Yes, you have to have the pics uploaded somewhere before you can put them (link them) in a post. The Samba has a Thing gallery where you can upload them, and it even gives you the code for putting them in a post.

Note, the direct photo link looks like this:

Starts in http, ends in JPG, GIF, PNG or BMP and contains no special characters like ? or &. Once you get that link, you wrap it in the [img] tags, like so:
[img]http://images.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/493948.jpg[/img]
Note that in the gallery, there's text you can copy/paste called "forum code" that puts the [img] tags together correctly.

Putting that in your post gives you this:
