I'm looking to get a replacement driver side door, is there a difference on the doors from a 71 super and a 71 standard?
Anyone know a good place to get a door around Pa./ Delaware/ Northern Va?

Same exact door. Try Mark 1 at Mark1VWs.com. He has like 30 or 40 parts Bugs. Several of that vintage. Located in Woodsboro MD. 301-898-9444. There's also Buggy Man in Lorton VA. He has a whole bin of doors. 703-690-1408.

You'll be happy you did. He has tons of parts. New and used. Depends on his mood as to how nice he is to you. But I go there a lot, and he has always been helpful. Even let me have some parts free if I removed them from the car they were on. If you do go, not sure where in PA you are, but 15 is a much easier route then 95 to 495 to 270 or 95 to 695 to 70.

Seeing this was the best thread I could find for this topic --We finally got around to stripping the PO's crappy paint job today. After the paint was removed from the drivers door, It was found the door was being held together with bondo  . With this new information, I set off to find a replacement door. After searching the classifieds here, the only 71 super doors I could find were in Nebraska, which were local pick-up only. Anybody have a drivers side door for a 1971 Super beetle they would be interested in selling/shipping to me? EDIT::: disregard, found them...DUH!

These little cars are full of suprises. Especially when you count all of the previous Mr-Fix-It's work done and hidden by paint, carpet and rubberized undercoating  .

me too.... The only thing I need to be 99% restored is a door. Looks like MD for me too. 71 and 74 is the same door right?

I think with the '73 door, it had a change the way the door armrest attached.

the '71 will hang on the hook part of the door

the '74 will screw on to the door

I would think you could weld that hang piece in place though if needed.
