Got a set of floor mats for my early 49 standard beetle.
Now the front fit no problem, but as for the rear the mats a narrower , have I ended up with the wrong sort?
My pan is original and is very flat as these look like they suit ovals.

As you can see with the mat sitting on the old carpet its a lot smaller.

Those don't look like split mats. Where did you get them???

Got them from this shop, I asked for mats to suit my 48 early 49 split beetle standard. I'm starting to think they send me the wrong ones by error.

John those are exactly the ones that WW sells... he bought them from Kaefer-Nostalgie... and Fernando buys them from WW. I have a set also.... but.... Im looking at the carpet he has... and, there is no carpet on the pan of a split.... the carpet is only along the tunnel and sides only and the bottom is just the pan covered by a mat...... right?

I was at the understanding that a standard split had rubber mats, this is why I'm removing the carpet from the floor and just keeping the tunnel and sides etc.
But as you can see the rear floor mat is way to narrow.

Here is the floor of my split, as you can see its very flat. The mats just not wide enough.

This is the floor of an oval beetle pan.

As you can see the mats fit this fine as it has the stepped down sides which make the area in between alot narrower.

All three pictures are of the same area of the floor pans, note the pressing for the battery.

I just measured the original rear mats from my '51 std. They are not even width end to end. They are both about 350mm wide at the rear end, and about 308mm at the front.
