| Picked up 82 Caddy last week, it has been converted to gas, has 1.8 in it and scirroco 4 wheel disc brakes. The bad is the wiring is a mess, no turn signals, reverse lights, horn is shorted out, fuel gauge, warning lights, temp gauge, dash lights all dont work, floor is rusted thru on both sides, passenger strut tower rotted thru . I am looking for a sourse of new or used parts near Virginia. Also any technical help would be helpful as this is my first caddy. I was told Rabbit shares a lot of parts with this truck?My first job will be getting a hold of a complete wiring harness (unmollested) and start from there. I am also concidering a complete 16v swap, had heard it would go better with donor car complete, only what model year and model will work? End effect i'm looking for is 16v, 5 speed, lowered 2" , 17" wheels, round headlights.... |

| Only found 1 web site, the one you mentioned , but its in england. There are no web sites here in the states? |

| Maybe not anymore, the guy I was thinking of was in Canada and ran a caddy web site. It's too bad if he is gone the site had alot of good info. |

| Just dropped a 1.8 8valve out of a 89 Golf, in my 82 Caddy, swapped out fuel injection, and exhaust from 1.7 to this motor. It had slight cold start issue before swap, now it fires initially , but dies. After doing this 3-4 times, i can keep it running by feathering throttle. When it warms up it runs great. System is CIS, Tested cold start valve, its working. :roll: |

| Found it to be the warm up presure regulator, starts and idles fine now. |
