| The original VW shop manuals speak of welding paste. It's some kind of paste that is applied to the metal before welding. Supposedly it helps prevent rust there. Does anyone know what this is and where to get it 40+ years later? |

| They're referring to a Paste Flux used in welding for a better bond. |

| not familiar with that stuff. but weld thru primer does the same thing. Easy to find at the auto paint store. kinda hard to weld on, but it does help a lot with rust prevention. |

Is this what you're talking about:
http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/pm-15357-195-sem-copperweld-weld-thru-primer-40783.aspx
http://www.e-bodyshopsupplies.com/upol0789-weld2-weldthroughzincprimer.aspx
Which one performs best?
Thanks |
