I am already working on a 63 Ragtop that is solid. I picked up a 61 Ragtop originally intended as a parts car. The heater channels and pans are rusted through since it's been in the northeast all its life. The question is now, do I part it out or do I get it running, fix the pans/channels, slam it and drive it? Any thoughts or opinions?
Thanks.

It'll buff out  but seriously, it looks like a fun project! What are the plans?

Save it or sell it whole!
Don't cut it up.

I would keep it whole - replace the pans and call it good! That is a pretty solid project bug and would hate to see it parted out. Nice Find!!

I normally vote for saving any ragtop.

I see the engine compartment has a lot of original 40hp parts, don't throw any of those away if you upgrade the engine. I also see various radio suppression parts, what radio does it have?

61 is a great year. Wonderful color choices, and still has the small taillights.
Channels and pans aren't that awful of a job, and not very expensive. I would save that car no question.

My 65 needs more in the inside than that. restore it or sell it whole.

Come to our next monthly club meeting on November 18 at the Chimney Rock Inn in Bound Brook, and bring photos. We'd love to talk about it with you! :D

Hey Notable, thanks for the pic. It looks great! That's the best motivation to keep it so far.

Man this pic is why I am leaving the outside the way it is.

I saw that backyard paintjob you gave the Imp.. no thanks! haha. Not to mention that, but I know you will refuse to paint it unless I want some bright and shiny metal flake job.

Seriously.. I might take you up on that offer for the 63 when the time comes.
