My 62 project came with the typical "tub o' extras". Inside were two different motors with cross arm.
Which of the two below is correct?

Thanks for the help guys.

i honestly dont know, but if you remove the motor from the shaft, the motor is date stamped

The one in my 62 looks like the bottom one.

You will find if you hold it to the car only one will line up with the holes, one will be wider. I think the -64 is the top & 65+ is the bottom. Check voltage before you install

Dr Darby,
I have one of each at home. I will measure to varify what your are saying. I removed a 68 assembly out of my 64 and the holes were not touched. I believe the wiper assembly at the bottom has a plastic cover over the wire connections and that would be a early 68 motor on a 59 to 64 assembly, which is 12 volt? The motor will have 5 connections. The top assembly is a 65/ 66 assembly and it should fit your car as well. I can't tell, but it could be a 67 assembly. I can't see the connections for the switch?

THanks for the help guys. I'll try to line them up AND check voltage.

Also as I just noted in another post, I just looked at a Volvo 245 (1980-1992) rear wiper motor and it looks idecntical to the 6v single speed motor but is 12v.

I went to pick and pull today to check on the Volvo wiper deal. I believe that it was from a 82 wagon. I am going back with my wife tomrrow to look at a Benz for parts and make sure of the year. Anyway, the discovery was somthing. Because it is inside the rear hatch, the cover on the motor was like new. When I took it out it and pulled the cover it was like Dr Darby siad. It is a single speed motor with the same brush setup as a six volt with a twelve volt armature. The motor is the same as a low light 57 Ghia motor. the mouting bolts and shaft are exactly the same. If you wanted the screw terminal, you can just use the Ghia brush setup and you are twelve volt looking OEM. You could also use the brush setup from a 6 volt type one and the bottom cover or just use the armature for a 12 volt conversion. This was also a kick in the ass, the regular price is 21.00 but the guy at the counter said he has a super and he has a voltage regulator like that one and the price was 9.00. I will be posting more info and pictures tomrrow when it is not too cold in the garage.
