take a minute to thank all those that served to protect our freedom. especially those that made the ultimate sacrifice. personally i'd like to thank my father, a british army paratrooper. a member of the red devil brigade with several combat jumps in world war 2. rest in peace pops. and my brother in law also a paratrooper with the 101st army airborne. he did a tour and a half in viet nam and left half of his stomach on hamburger hill. thanks john. without these brave souls who knows where we'd be....
Thank You Veterans! |

I always shake the hand and thank any person I see in public in the Armed Forces. Of course that's easier 'cause they are usually in uniform. It's the least I can do to show my appreciation of their sacrifices.
I want to thank those that HAVE served too! THANK YOU! |

You are typing in English, not a foreign language. They help keep freedom free and allowed this country and other parts of the world to develop in a peaceful way. Maybe nothing directly to you or your family, but you should still be appreciative that you don't have to go fight wars that they have or currently do. I really think you are just kidding tough, so sorry about the rant. |

Thanks to those that served!
My Dad served in the Navy for 16 years. Even though he has passed on, I still make sure to give him a special thanks on Veterans Day. |

Thank you to all veterans that have served, i called my uncle today and wished him a happy veterans day and thanked him.
for anyone that has the navy medicine magazine, find your July-August 2008 magazine, and turn to page 15, i just recently got to hear that story when Donna came to my house with her husband when my uncle was visiting us to personally deliver the magazine with his story in it to him. it is pretty crazy to hear from HER that he is the only reason she was born.
or just go to this link and read page 15 and 16.
EDIT link changed

Not to mention to the continent we're on... or at least it was.
All the veterans in my family were on the "wrong" side, so we're not allowed to mention them. They fought for their country just like the lads on the winning side, but to the victors go the spoils.
That said, it is great to be an American! :D |

Thank you to all who have served, continue to serve, and to those who will serve our great country we call the USA.
My dad who was a Marine. My grandpa who served in the Navy & Marines. My great-great grandpas who fought each other during the war between the states. My grandma's cousins who did not come back from France. My late father in-law who served proudly in the Navy, and my wife's cousin who serves in an Army on the front lines in Iraq.
If it were not for them we would all be comrades looking at the state run Samba. |
