| I know i'm going to sound like an idiot asking this, but how do you know if you have an electric choke or not? I have a Weber 40idf carb but i'm not sure if it has an electric choke. Is there something i can look for. Sorry i'm a newbie to vw engines and carbs in general. |

| Look for a round, maybe silver dollar sized object that a wire or a terminal a wire can plug onto on the side of the carb. |

The wire on the choke needs to be connected to terminal 15 on the ignition coil, that's the "+" terminal there. Where the black wire connects, (not where the green wire going to the distirbutor hooks up. )
