I am removing/replacing a lower torsion arm on my 67 bus because of a broken shock stud, and I'm not quite sure how to remove the band that holds the sway bar onto the arm? I took the clamp off thinking that that was the only thing holding it on, but I was wrong. what do I need to do? Thanks!

Remove the clamping piece that holds the two edges of the band together then pry the band open and slip it off. There should be two clamps per side (big and little) and there should be a thin piece of metal between the clamp and the rubber bushing where the two clamp ends come together.

Hey daddy bus, Yeah I figured that had to remove the clamp holder by sliding off, but it doesn't want to move!. Do I bend that liitle metal tap I see on the front of the clamp? And if I do have to bend the tap, should I knock the holder forward (toward the the front of the van) or towards the back? Thanks for your help!

Cut em off with a die grinder and buy a new swaybar mounting kit. CIP sells em!

There is a bent-over tab on the larger end of the clamp. Unbend that. It slides toward the shorter end.
If you have to cut it off:
The repro kits do not have the little thin piece of metal from what I have seen but I don't think that matters.

Ok I bend the little tap with no problem but still cant get the darn clamp to come off. And I would hate to cut it and have to order new ones and wait another 2 weeks for them to come in the mail. Is the something I need to do to get it to slide off?

HOLD THE TAB WITH A PAIR OF MOLE GRIPS
WHACH ON THE MOLE GRIPS
-OR VICE GRIPS, WHATEVER YOU CALL THEM
IT HELPS TO TAKE SOME SPRING OUT OF THE MAIN PART WITH A C CLAMP
CUT THEM OFF THOUGH

i removed a sway bar from a 67 beam that i used on my 61; great addition btw. like everett said, bend the tab and tap it out with a large punch. soak with your favorite spray first and apply gentle heat as needed. the thin piece of metal was wasted on mine so cut some new ones out of some thin aluminum i had. i like reusing og hardware when at all possible. the hardest part for me was getting the clamps squeezed back together during installation.
