At this point I would say Buyer Beware! Purchased this intake from Wes 3 weeks ago. Paid October 23rd via Paypal and he stated the item would ship October 24th. Shipping from Arizona to California is only a few days at most. I have emailed him numerous times asking what is happening with the shipment, and to date, received zero emails back. The ad is still listed as of today so even after getting paid, never adjusted the ad to sold or removed the ad.

Here is the ad.

So, not sure the story on this Aircooled Autowerks, but 3 weeks, zero part delivered, and zero emails in response, they are flakey at best, or doing some other bad internet sales deeds.

I have filed my claim with Paypal and will post here when that is resolved. I even sent emails via Paypal process asking what is happening with the part shipment and still zero emails back.

If this seller comes through and sends the part or does the refund before Paypal deals with him, will adjust this message as needed.

So, if you plan on buying from this place, beware, seems to email quickly fine before you buy, but once payment is in hand, it is another story.

Still, zero emails from this Wes. He enjoys posting new items for sale on this site but answers no emails and takes our money. They logged on recently so we know they are alive and posting. I just don't understand people. What in their minds makes them feel alright with taking others money and not sending something. Just makes no sense. If they are in the VW business, one would think they would be trying to treat folks right, especially on The Samba, the most popular place for us VW folks. They chose the wrong place to get business and doing stuff like this.

Another Samba member just sent me a PM and said they are also not getting what they purchased. They paid and since then, zero response from this Wes.

Pitiful.

Will keep you all posted.

I was getting ready to post about this guy when I found yours. I got burnt on a 8.00 + 10.00 shipping piece of pulley tin. He stayed in contact with me until I sent him the money. Then nothing. No e mails, no contact at all. He has been on the site since he received my money, so he knows what he's doing. I guess some people will CHEAT anybody. Stay clear. I'm only out 18.00. Hate to see him take someone for more. Jeff

I wonder what the Samba policy is when enough people post feedback on a seller that is obviously taking money from fellow members here? Do they eventually get banned from the site if enough proof comes up about fraudulent sellers?

This seller has not been a member long, so it appears they have all these ads and just quickly collecting as much as they can before people start posting bad feedback.

Curious?

Usually what I do is email the person. If they don't respond, then I often deactivate their ads as protection for other sellers. If a number of problems surface and the person does not respond to reports of trouble, they may get banned. It's up to the buyers to keep me updated, either directly or by updating the feedback thread.

Most of the time it turns out the seller is just slow or didn't respond for various reasons rather than a real problem.

Thanks, good to know.

BTW, I have a "pending" refund now on my Paypal account. Will let this thread know if I get it.

I have had something catastrophic happen that has kept me from my business and e-mail for several weeks. I am in the process of refunding all purchases and I will still be sending parts. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I received refund via Paypal. Not quite sure of the sellers situation and why this happened but after I submitted a claim to Paypal, I was able to get my refund from them.

Just an update for at least my issue. I received the refund as I mentioned earlier via Paypal. I am not sure what happened with the seller but it is non of my business. I had to do the claim deal through Paypal but they did do the refund. The seller ended up sending me the manifold anyway and it arrived today unexpectedly. So, from at least my point of view, he is a stand-up person, and made good on the original transaction.

I will be emailing him now to offer payment for the item anyway since he sent it.
