so i just bought a 1958kombi. it has 2 vin numbers one on the bulk head and one in the engine bay. the only thing is there different number. can someone tell me if these should match?

No, they should not match. The one in the engine compartment is the VIN, the one on the bulkhead is the body number.

im living in the nortwest i just picked up the bus from saskatoon. its still on the samba classifieds. im currently looking to rent a garage. know anyone?

the bus is at my parents house in medicine hat. as soon as i find a garage im towing up. keep ya posted
