| my 5 spokes have always been painted. are the polished 5 spokes overly prone to pitting or turning dull, or is it worth the extra cash to just buy the chromed ones? can anyone just drop me a note? |

if you get em polished and then clear coated they wont turn dull. Chrom is nice but it may start to chip after a while |

I am trying to decide which to buy, chrome or polished, also......
if purchased new do the polished wheels still need to be clear coated?
the set of chrome wheels are $300 bucks more |

| youd probably have to contact the manufacturer to be sure, but if you put another coat of clear on em once you got em I dont think it would hurt |

| I didn't clear coat mine, I just use car wax. Do it once a month, they stay looking great. You're sealing them so they don't oxidize, much like sealing paint from the elements. Works like a champ, and it's cheap. |

| Second rate?? I think polished looks much better. Chrome looks too blingy and ricey. Everyone has chrome wheels....everyone. |

Polished.
After years of building and working on motorcycles I can tell you that chrome plated aluminum will ALWAYS crack and peel. It's just a matter of time. Once it starts, it will only get worse and the only remedy is to have the wheels stripped, pits filled, and then replated.
When a polished wheel starts to look bad, you either polish it yourself or have it done. |
