| ive seen a lot of really slammed dubs running safety spares up front. is this a truly bad idea? i was told it was illegal. are they made that badly? is it that they are only good for 40 mph? is it a weight concern? maybe just not wide enough to stop quickly? the later being my concern. porsche never makes a car go faster unless they can make it stop better, and with my drum brakes, running 125s, 70% of your braking done with the front wheels, am i just increasing the odds of something really terrible happening? i have the 125s on my oval, but with its ride height and my horrible fear that something bad will happen to it, i usually never drive it faster than 45. although it really pisses off people behind me, i usually get alot of thumbs up and waves. could be bad but i do alot of my slowing and stopping by shifting down instead of my brakes. |

125s and 135sare dangerous in the sense that you are losing what little contact you have with the front already.
However there are many modern tire alternatives that give the low profile look while keeping a wider contact path. maybe you should look into some 165/45s or 175/55s |
