Anyone else see the Split Window on the Becks Beer commercial?
I saw it last night, and it shows what looks to be a restored Split in L11 Pastel Green. They only show the Split from the front but you can clearly see the grooved bumper. I'm sure the owner is on this forum somewhere.
Just FYI, I thought it was cool 8)

| I think that is an oval. Not a split. |

| Looks like a late 49-early 51. No hood crest. Bumpers look like oval blades, but its hard to tell. |

Thanks for the link Wiggy.
The VW was flashed so fast, it caught me off guard, But I thought I saw the blade bumpers. After closer inspection they do look like later bumpers. Still think it's a split though.

| Does look like later bumpers... but a split. I am not sure when they ended the grooved bumpers, was it with Zwitter??? |

All Zwitters had the '53 style blade bumpers. |

Its a 49 - 51. Cant explain the bumpers. Notice the lack of trim around the windshield. No hood crest etc.
Is it really a vintage ad, or a redo of one? |

Does anyone have any footage of the VW display at the 50 or 51 Geneva show? I'm sure I've seen some but cannot find a source. It looks like vintage footage to me, but that would make the bumpers hard (though not necessarily impossible) to explain.
Can anyone identify either of the two other cars? If either are prototypes that never went into production, that would virtually guarantee it's a vintage clip.
I'm assuming the video is a mirror image? Outside mirror and what appears to be a steering wheel on the RH side of the car. |

Why would an auto show car have an inspection sticker on the windshield? |

| I also find it hard to believe that VW would have put an accessory clip on mirror on the car for the auto show. |

To me for sure it is a redone one for the beer comercial.
On wich show would a split with later bumpers, an after market right side mirror and some stickers on the windscreen have been seen?
And why would it had been filmed sharp in full colour and with close ups?
This is not the first "not perfect" beetle used in a commercial clip today. |
