pantswagen Fri Nov 14, 2008 6:10 am

THESE?
]take a type 2 spindle -72 on bay or brasil splitty link pin

braket for caliper to spindle, 40mm thick:eek:

996 calipers - readilly available from ebay, cheap too, cheaper and better than the earlier 2 piece non mono blockers!!!

stock disc, custom hub, stock bearings, seals and grease cap, bearing spread -ie position of bearings hub to spindle = stock

take note here too, disc is actually spigotted on the custom hub!!!!
note full purchase of outer bearing cup in the fatter part of the wheel spigot, which is stock porker:D, plus studs are vag

stock jamb nut and thrust washer

stock caliper bolts m14 - plus the 15mm shouldered bolt is reamed

looks sweet, even narrows the track 20mm per side, of course you just and longer studs and a spacer, to get stock.
the cap is in the stock position, plus is another stock part.
so you can buy everything new
bearings - seals - studs - caps - washers - jamb nuts - wheel bolts - discs - calipers - pads -

stock nipples up side
run 300mm 986
318 996
330 996 turbo
350 gt2/3

narrows the track 19mm from stock bay
-ie add 19mm stock porker spacer and 20mm longer porker studs
-if you wish to be stock again.............

close lind, what i forgot to add, was the first post production rear 944 style hub and caliper carrier is done
-the hub fits type 1 splines only, is a little wider-5mm than a 944
-so it can take a 996/986/997 rear disc - its only drilled for these
it is more like the early 924 turbo - in that it doesn't incorporate the bearing cap - so you can run a short axle on it
-and the caliper mount is radial, so it matches the fronts

-also, i havn't started on the 996/986/ masteer cylinder mount for type 2
-as they will fit straight in a servo'd bay
-so you get the same problems with servoing a split
-then you simply run the corresponding master for your 4 matched calipers
-and a proportioning valve for a rear engined car

oh plus you dont need to -as you do with a 944 rear, add a spacer, as its already in the hub/rotor
-thanks!

Rotation is anti-clockwise so inlet pipe is reversed with bleeder?

pantswagen Fri Nov 14, 2008 9:52 am

oooh so close
-but calipoer is correct spindle/caliper is right
caliper is to the rear

-spose you are correct then, it has the wrong side rotor on
-well done

wher you want the bag sent

p.s. guys, check wether you local european parts distributor stocks the non oem rotors - they are handed laft and right
-in the uk the oem ones are expensive
non oem ones are now as little as £44 sterling
-at 1.5 to the buck, thats $66
a pair $132 - wow
still stock radial vaned, handed left right, stock drilled = cheap?

-ps they are
boxster 's' or 996
318mm by 28mm -

the 2.7 non drilled non handed boxster 2.7 are 305mm by 24
-the caliper has -9 onthe mounting face, so this hub and adaptor works

similarily the 330mm disc has plus 6mm in the caliper mount boss
all simple stuff
-the 350mm 6 pots however, have an offset cast in them
-i have never had a pair, hense cannot guarantee they will work

ps, from any pork place you can buy extended studs and spacers
-these will fit thes hubs, as the spigot is stock, so are the stud bores
-so for example, you can get cup 2's et 23 -7.5
and et 55 7's

anyway what you do is...
fit the hub, work out from the stock wheel and tyres centre, where you want the new tyres centre -and add

-fit the wheel on a stock bay stud and nut
-then plus

I think I saw a pair fs at Bulli Brigade, in cosmoline, in the VW/ Audi etc box.
Not sure if they were the same thing (are there different versions?), but they were definately VW king pin spindles not for drum brakes.

pantswagen Sat Nov 15, 2008 12:35 pm

the new brasil bay windows
-use a split beam -linkpins but late bay hubs discs and calipers on these spindles

so a pair was probably forged today

YOU CAN BUY THEM IN THE UK FOR 92 POUNDS EACH PLUS TAXES AND SHIPPING, NOW THESE COME FROM BRASIL, TAKE 4 WEEKS TO LAND BY SEA.

-NOW I ONLY SAY THIS, AS IF YOU CAN GET THEM AT YOUR LOCAL VW VENDOR
-SIMPLY ENQUIRE TO THE WHEREABOUTS OF THE LINK PIN CARRIERS KING AND LINK PINS AND BEARINGS
-TRAILING ARMS ETC
-THEN BUY MY HUBS AND ADAPTORS

Hi

i've got these for my bus .
i want put my brembo (same mounting o f Porsche turbo) with disk from VW LT ? in 5*130 .

pantswagen Sat Nov 15, 2008 11:00 pm

hello please
-the lt28 - is a mercedes sprinter - dodge sprinter
-the discs are 276mm round
-the smallest disc a 4 pot will run on is 300mm

=the hub of the lt28 does take taper roller bearings, but the hub is huge
-its about 5 inches 125mm long - its massive
-hense you get those stoopid offset wheels
-anyway, i have a set of lt28 hubs discs and calipers on the spindles rotting in my garden if you want to see a pic of the set up 'from the rear'
-also there are in fact 3 different sprinter discs
-ps the bay window caliper takes a 13mm thick disc, the lt's are vented

ps the 944 brembo mounts 2mm wider i think than the bay
-plus they are m12, not m14

your 4 pot wants a disc at least 300mm
-its an ideal disc size for a 14 inch wheel, as its the same size as a standard bay window disc
-you could make a custom hub, and use a stock caliper and lt disc
maybe, even if you split the caliper and spaced it, I had this in mind, doing a hub for them, but its another expense i didn't wish to incur
-I only paid up, for the rnd for what I wanted for my bus
