I own a 67 Fastback and I have been trying to remove the radio to put a different radio in but I am unable to. I removed the rear bracket but it still won't come out. Can it just slide out or do I somehow remove the radio holder from the dash. If I have to remove the radio holder from the dash how do I go about doing it. I looked in the Bentley manual but they do not have that information. The radio that is in there presently is an after market type, not an original Sapphire or Blaupunkt. This is my first Type 3.

take a picture of it so we can see what you have. You probably need to take off the sleeve/mount for the radio. It should be bolted to the metal brace under the dash.

Feel behind, and see if there is any fasteners. There should be two, but I do not know what type, or what direction.
Which direction are you going? Aftermarket to stock? |

As I contemplated removing the radio sleeve I did feel two fasteners which could have been the mounting fasteners to the sleeve. Will take a better look tomorrow weather permitting. I will be just putting in a AM/FM Analog radio from Radio Shack which I have had for quite sometime.

I removed the radio today and put in my Radio Shack one. The one the previous owner had in it seemed to be professionally installed. They used an outer sleeve with a bunch of tabs bent up so it would make it hard to steal. Now I have tunes in my Fastback.
