I bought a non running 73' Beetle the other day. I got it running today thanks to some people on here. Anyway after cleaning it out today I found a Hazet VW tool set under the driver's seat. I was trying to find some information on these. I have not found much. Are they rare?
Thanks, Matt

It depends which one on whether it is "rare". Rare is an overused word, in my opinion. They are all uncommon.

Since it's a '73, is it the square toolbox?
If yes, here are some threads

No it's the round shaped one. I guess I will consider it a nice added bonus to the good deal I got on the car. :D

Which is probably a good plan. Pics would be nice though.

Here a couple pictures. It's not in the best of shape. The pliers are missing.

Good find. It goes in the spare tire of a pre-66 beetle. If you'd like to sell it let me know, I'd love it for my '62.

I might be interested in selling it. I would rather see someone put it use in there show car then collect dust in my garage. I have no idea what it's worth.

This site has some good information on them.

Interesting to think about the mindset of the automaker-including tools to allow one to work on and maintain their own car. Would any automaker include anything like that today? Not a chance beyond a jack and tire-iron.

The pliers you're missing are the easy ones to find.

It's the channel locks that I'd like to have.

I have boxes of parts to go through that came with the car. I'm hoping they turn up.
