Well I just bought my first beetle and have identified all the rust and am looking for some advice as to the best way to attack it. To me it does not seem to be too bad. The floor pans are solid and no rust through. following are some pics of the rust. Rear bumper mount area. rear shock mount area. Front of rear fenderwell Passenger rocker looking back Drivers side rear fenderwell Front drivers fender well. goes into cab but heater channells seem solid. Here is a pic of the beetle just for kicks And another Any suggestions or feedback would be helpful. How are the replacement panels from Wolfsberg west. My good friend is a professional welder so the welding is not a prob. thanks!

wolfsburg has good panels for the rust repair, but to be honest most get there panels from the same supplier. i ran into a pinch on my 63 and the only place that had the paticular panel for the rear rocker area was jc whithey so i got it and when it arived it was from the same supplier as so many others i got from other vendors! anyway, looks like you need a frame off to get to all the cancer, remember do it right the first time and you wont be sorry. here is what i did to mine.

I got my front apron and spare tire well from wolfsburg west and have no complaints, perfect fit.

Speaking of welding ( and by the way that slide show blew my mind )
How is the panal welded on exactly?
I havent welded much at all and I don't know the terms for diff weld styles and how to do em.
I have to replace my rear package tray as well as my drivers side heater channel.
Advise????
