A long time ago, I remember seeing an ad for a magnetic cover for the Beetle fresh air vents. This was a simple flat piece, which you could place over the vents to block them off, but could easily remove without any paint damage.
Does anyone remember these, know who made them, or know of a place that has them for sale?
The type of vents in question:

Thanks for the tips. I'll look into that route. 8)
... But that being said, does anyone remember the pre-cut VW specific versions? |

I've never heard of a cover to block off the fresh air vent. But I have seen scoops for it that clip on.
I have one on my 72 Super.

Nice Super. 8) Yeah, I have seen the scoops. In truth, I think the scoop probably is a better choice for daily usage, but I am more interested in the magnetic cover for car storage in a rainy climate. So I can block the vents entirely, without having to worry about water sitting (or freezing) in the air box or its drain.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like they ever caught on.. I remember seeing them advertised a long time ago, but I can't find anything about them now. :( |
