The local VW mechanic swears by this stuff and I was just wondering if anybody has ever used it? I have not tried it myself but I will on the next oil change. It supposedly will lower your engine oil temp. The directions say you add 1 1/2 oz of this stuff for every quart. It will then last through two oil changes before having to do it again.

I call snake oil, but if you want to lower the water temp in your bus, by all means, open your wallet...

Here's a good article on the subject of additives

If your motor is running correctly with all the tin, you shouldn't be running hot in the first place.

My gut tells me stay away from this stuff, but I've been wrong in the past.

Yeah a couple of guys at work said they were a little leary about it also. I do question some oil additives but the old VW dude was quite convincing. Thom that was a long article but very informative. When I was a kid I remember a infomercial with a geo metro or something, driving around the San Fransisco hills with no oil. I was totally amazed but reading the article about the briggs and stratton engines makes me think....Damn I have been had again! :D
