Any of you guys own a Fiero?
I owned an 84 awhile back and I would like to eventually get a low mile, stock, unmolested '88 GT. I'm going to look at an '86 GT tomorrow to use as a daily driver. |

A Friend of mine bought a Fiero cause he wanted a "sports car". He bought it at about the same time my wife bought an '85 Celica GTS -top of the line with ALL the options. Her GTS didn't have the straight out, stop light to stop light speed, but it handled better and had more useable horsepower while cornering and shifting. It was way more fun to drive and we put 148,000 miles on top of the 97,000 it already had on it before we sold it. His shitty fucking Fiero was ALWAYS broke. |

The Recarro seats work nice in a Bug. I had these re-upholstered in VW grain vinyl/basket weave insert.

| I would hold out for an 88 GT. The difference in handleing is like night and day. |

| I had an '87 GT several years ago as a daily driver. It was a blast to drive and had decent power but just didn't have enough space for extras like groceries, laundry, etc as I was in college at the time. I ended up selling it for a small profit on ebay to someone in Connecticut, I think I got $3400. Despite all the jokes made by my aircooled buddies, I still thought it was a cool car. |

My Sister had a brand new '86 GT. It was pretty cool but had too many electrical problems. She eventually traded in for a Saturn. 2.8L V6 5 Speed

| A friend of mine had one years ago. One night, while enroute to NYC (we lived 15 minutes away in NJ) it caught fire while we were on rte 80. we watched it burn from an overpass. It was cold out. That is all. |

Back in the Day I had an 87 Olds Calais, it and the fiero shared much of the same components, you could upgrade the little 4 banger they came with somewhat. Well unless you had a Fiero GT, man that shit was already upgraded!

If you're going mid-engine, these are highly recommended by certain professionals named MarT :

Be sure to include a sweet OG Prince cassette.
Seriously, those things are junk. I hope you're good at working out electrical issues.
A co-worker has an '86 and that piece of crap smokes like a house fire. He bought it two years ago with 47K original miles on it. |

I like the old style MR2 better.
Not to hijack this lovely Fiero thread. A girl I had a crush on in grade school used to get dropped off by her Dad in one. I'm sure that added to the mystique. |
